Announcement of our next Hydra Meet Up (2023)


Dear friends,

during the past year and a half everyone has been hoping for a quick return to normal. Unfortunately things took much longer than anticipated.

With the Ghent event being rescheduled from 2020 to 2021 and then 2022 our friendly gathering on Hydra needs to be moved to 2023. This will give more people the opportunity to attend the Ghent event in 2022 which will be marvellous thanks to all the work Maarten and his parents are putting into it.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all on our favourite island in June 2023 to once again enjoy the Greek life and the evenings at the Roloi filled with music and laughter.

We will back on here next year with more detailed information.

While time seems to be slipping through my fingers as I get older the thought of waiting for another (almost) 24 months before our meetup in Hydra seems an almost unbearable long period. But as said here on this forum many times by others the “P” is our mantra and in time I hope to see you all again in good health on our beloved island.

I just heard through the grapevine that Hydra 2023 dates are changing to May 24? Is that right?

Hello everyone and warm greetings from the beautiful island of Hydra.

Our gatherings on Hydra always were centered around the Roloi and our evenings together filled with music and singing.

The friendly people of the Roloi are still happy to host us in 2023 but urgently asked for the dates to be changed. The family running the cafe will have a big wedding on the second weekend in June so the Roloi will not be running with full capacity while the wedding preparations will be underway and even closed on some dates on and before that weekend.

There will be an important Greek church holiday on the weekend before that which means no music is allowed at the Roloi from Friday to Monday.

This leaves the last weekend in May as the only option.

So the next Hydra meet up will take place from


Friday May 26 until Sunday May 28 in 2023.



We are aware that the new dates may not be convenient for everyone but unfortunately there is no other option.

The registration will be open from September and we are looking forward to seeing you all on Hydra next year.

Fantastic news, just learning our Hydra events will be running again soon is good news.
For the date we can adapt a year ahead to make arrangements.

the forum members are a very welcoming group of people and no one is left feeling a stranger. Our biannual meet-ups on Hydra are basically an informal gathering of old and new friends who share the love for Leonard’s music. On the files here you can find some footage from previous meetings.

We would be happy to welcome you both on Hydra in 2023.
