I agree that it is a fascinating article, but there is something that perplexes me. In the very first paragraph, referring to Leonard as a young man in London in 1960, it says: "In those days, he was a Jamesian Jew, the provincial abroad, a refugee from the Montreal literary scene." Does anybody know what a "Jamesian Jew" is? Thank you.
