I don't know if anybody else has seen it but over here the biography channel is having a weekend dedicated to the "beautiful people" and leonard is on it. Is anyone else surprised considering Chelsea Hotel #2? Maybe its just the fact that sex figures so much in his work, either way i'm just looking forward to the biography.

Did anyone else notice that the programme had appeared to have been cut for adverts?

First time I had seen it and the list of songs at the end did not match what had been shown.

Well, I'm sure it will be repeated at some stage, they usally are. It was pretty much an interview with him in paris after his leaving the monastary. It was pretty good although, in my opinion, the woman who did it was a bit too focused on his reputation as a womaniser and not enough on his work. It had quite a few songs on it and even some video clips which was surprising because I wasn't really sure if leonard had made any videos.

It sounds like they definitely pulled heavily from Stina's interview in Paris with Leonard in late December, several years ago. I appreciate your comment regarding Stina's seeming obsessiveness regarding Leonard's sexuality. It was one thing that stood out like a sore thumb, particularly in contrast to her interview with him, when he was still residing in the monastery on Mt. Baldy. It seemed that one was conducted with a feeling of 'due reverance' for him, in the context of that time in his life; whereas, the one you viewed was conducted with an attitude of his being 'fair game' [from various perspectives] now, per his departure from the monastery to return to 'Boogie Street.' I feel that Leonard maintained his dignity exceedingly well, in the midst of that verbal/spiritual onslaught......and that the bottom line was that it did not bode well for Stina, whereas Leonard emerged unscathed. When I watched it, I felt a sense of indignation and disbelief......even to the extent that the phrase "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" came to mind. Welcome to the Forum, Ghoti .

No matter what, Leonard just seems to hang on to his dignity making the inverviewer look undignified. It the interviewer looked undignified, I suspect that was the case.

Yes, Linda; Leonard knows how to hold his ground, and does ~ exceedingly well. One had better be certain to not care whether what they say comes back on them, before they venture to say it to Leonard. He has the ability to one-up, without its appearing to be a contest. "Coming back to haunt you......" and "Coming back to bite you....." are two phrases that apply. He doesn't initiate these 'confrontations,' but knows well how to deal with them, once they present themselves. And, with elegance. Undignified is how she came across as a result.

Whilst sitting at a finely-tablecothed table, she might as well have scattered, all over it, the proverbial 'handful of dirt' that she walked into the restaurant with. I felt some of the things she said were both undignified and inappropriate on their own; even before Leonard responded. My immediate question to myself was, "What's her hidden agenda?" I believe they were at a restaurant table.....though, I may be remembering that element wrongly [hmm, is that the correct form of the adverb?].

I agree with you, Elizabeth on Leonard, on the adverb, I'm not so sure. It doesn't sound right, but 'tis I you're speaking with. If I'm not sure which adverb to use, I'll just pick one, any one and make it do. That isn't the kind of English you want, is it?

The interviewer came across as something of a gossip columnist as far as i could see and it was strangly refreshing to see Leonard reply with civility and calmness, he wasn't willing to follow her down to her own level (of questioning). Thanks for the very warm welcome Elizabeth, I'm glad to be here, as for the adverb, however, thats really your call.

Yes, Linda, it sounds dreadfully silly to me; yet, it's the ol' "ly" rule ~ I do that, too....just go for it, right or wrong, with something that can actually make it out of your mouth in decent fashion .

I have a response for that which should not be joked about in mixed company and as there is a gentleman present, I'm afraid you'll just have to use your imagination.

As for the 'ly' - I have difficulty with the very same. Be an individual - do the wrong thing!
