What would you think if Leonard Cohen and Yusuf Islam gives a concert for the peace in Palestin ??? It is not a bad idea, isn't it ?

no. not a bad idea... it would certanly be a grand show!
but... the situation is not their fault, so it shouldn't be on them to fix it.
Something like that...

It was just an idea... There will never be a peace in Palestine. But there will always be somebody who will talk about it... Why not, Cat Stevens and Leonard Cohen may be one of them. You can take my proposition in that way. Finally, it is not the songs, but the war who will decide... So you can ask me why I made this proposition if I didn't believe in peace. Then I can not answer your question... And then you become the winner...

Ah! a game! Winners, prices! Yeaaah! What are they, the prices? Eh? (he-he) Eh? What are they? Bombs on our heads, houses, buses, dearest beloved? Hum... am I supose to be funny right now? hum. The good will was there at the beginning, it just - like - that I did fall while running in a hurry to arrive to the point. Don't laugh, OK? This is not funny.
Well.
So.
That would be GREAT.
Cat Stevens (If he would dare to reintegrated his old skin of his previous life as a big Cat) and Leonard Cohen. I'll drop everything and go.
LC said that he liked to think that music won over the barbarism (of the nazism).
Great.

Yeah, great.

What's the deal with Cat Stevens these days anyway?
Yes, I believe LC said something tongue in cheek about having a confused idea that music somehow conquered the Nazis. It was in reference to the song The Partisan, methinks.

That's a wonderful idea, Murat!
Music finds its way into people's hearts - without boundaries.
Linda, this is Yusuf Islam's website ...

His music is a little more the Cat Stevens style again.
He has even picked up his guitar again recently!

Hi Susanne,
Thanks for the link. I haven't heard of Cat Stevens with regard to music for many, many years. I quite liked him when he was in the biz. The last I heard of him publicly, was that business about him not being able to enter the U.S. I believe that was finally settled (in his favour, I think).
Is that your Haiku? If so, I like it quite a bit. I have a fondness for Haiku.
Nice avatar also. Hey! You have a nice little set-up here.
Thanks again for the link.
See you,
Linda.

Hi Linda,
So nice to hear you like my Haiku and the little dolphin!
Writing Haiku is a great way of sharing one's impressions, don't you think so?
Love, Susanne

I do. And you do it well. The dolphin is considered a symbol of good luck. I don't know where you are (did I see Germany?) no matter. Here in Canada (at least in the West), there is dolphin jewellery of all kinds. I have a friend who collects and she has many beautiful pieces. I gave her one as she was my maid-of-honour. It was imbedded with a lovely marcasite design. Very twinkly!
See you,
Linda.

I don't know why I didn't click on your link the last time, but I see you have a Bird on...which holds a very special place in my heart. For many reasons. Loverly! Thanks.
Linda.

Nah! I don't think Leonard Cohen wants to be on the same stage as Yusuf Islam. Yusuf Islam has yet to condemn Palestinian bombers. He doesn't consider it terrorism! Whereas Leonard Cohen has toured in Israel (yom kippur war) and I believe has love for the state of Israel.
If Leonard Cohen will tour with Yusuf Islam, I'll throw all of his CDs out of the window. Being a big LC fan, I can declare this with ease because I know LC has more intelligence than that.
Kay.

Dear kay,
The first paragraph of your post contains much wishful thinking e.g. "I don't think", "I believe", and the suggestion that Leonard Cohen "toured in Israel(yom kippur war" (sic).
In your second paragraph you threaten to throw all of his C.D.s (presumably Leonard's) out of the window. The very notion of these two artists performing (on the same charity album?) has rattled your sensibilities. Yet you have the confidence to declare that L.C. "has more intelligence than that".
It may be to your advantage to investigate more about...
Yusuf Islam (beyond your ignorance)
Leonard Cohen (beyond your C.D.s)
with respect,
Andrew.

In war, young men and women have no say. They are conscripted to fight and to die. All wars use up the lives of the young. They are sent hither and thither and get killed. They are brave, frightened, proud, upset, bold and tearful.
In a word, Human.
Many entertainers find it in their hearts to visit these young fearful souls, in order to bring some semblance of humanity and joy into their stress filled nights and terrifying days.
One such entertainer is Leonard Cohen.
Anyone who advocates throwing lc's records out of the window, because leonard felt a need to bring warmth and love to frightened youngsters, doesn't know leonard.
With respect.

The Greek scholars of whom we are taught, such as Plato, Aristotle, etc., come to us from written pages that circumnavigated the Med. Sea.
The mathematics, which our top scientisits use to create wonder and modern technologies, come to us from the same route around the Med. Sea.
Who brought this knowledge with their own remarkable understanding and intellect?
Have a guess.
