Will Leonard return to the UK?

Post by 10newtours »

HI there,
I understand from reading previous posts that there is no tour planned at all for this year.
But I was thinking you are just the people to ask; Will Leonard tour the UK again?

I understand he is incredibly healthy for a - nearly - 80 year old man, but still, am I hoping in vain?
Someone put me out of my misery please!

Thanks, and sorry if this has been asked before,
Ollie

Leonard has no plans to go back on the road, to UK or any other country.
He has concentrated on the upcoming studio album.

For me and I said this after the initial tour starting in 2008 finished. That Leonard Cohen would not be able to resist returning for the adulation of the new found "fandom" that went to see the first two years of that tour. He of course did come back to do another tour BUT now, who knows, firstly his health will be an important issue, if he is given the all clear, then there would be a slight possibly but we all have to remember, he performs a very long concert and that does take a lot of inner and outer strength. I doubt he would not want to tour again and shorten his gig time to suit his health.

His new "Album" CD/DVD will be out later, perhaps he will tour that which personally I don't think LC will know at this moment. It is hard to give up that feeling of being in front of several thousand people who to a person are there to offer their thanks for both his longevity, his humility, his words and his music but there comes a time.....
I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

I hope you mean he will not tour in 2014 but that there is a probability of him touring once again after that. After all, he did say he would keep going until the wheelchairs rusted....

There are no tour plans for any year. We don't know what will happen in the future, but this is the state of affairs now.

We have many other things to wait for: the new studio album, the live concert BluRay/Dvd/2cd set. And our own Hydra meetup in June 2015, the big Events in Edmonton and Amsterdam in 2016, and so on.

Our Dublin Event this August is coming next, followed by a lot of new books & happenings to commemorate Leonard's 80th birthday! We also hope to get the fund raising for the Hydra bench started soon, but before the announcement we still need official permission from the Archeological Office in Athens and budget information from Hydra.

Thank you for this information, which is food for the spirit! Having traveled to Amsterdam last year to hear Leonard perform, I would return to be with his fans there in 2016.
