Happy birthday to Sophia Loren - Leonard's near time twin born 20th September 1934 approximately 18 hours before Leonard. Sophia is a great movie star and one of the last living screen goddesses (along with Lauren Bacall). However her musical gifts don't quite match those of Leonard, as is evident from this song of hers!

Here are a couple featuring Sophia in Boy On A Dolphin (1957) filmed at a location Leonard would come to know:

Her golden voice was also on featured in that film ... although perhaps missed due to other more evident talents ...

Thanks for posting those Eskimo. I did note the Hydra connection when I read Sophia's autobiography recently...I think she beat Leonard to it, by several years (was it 1957 that she was there?). Meanwhile, I would like to see Leonard and Sophia get together for their almost-joint 80th birthday and re-record this song:

Perhaps Leonard could be talked into playing the role of a Jewish doctor ... just for the re-recording, of course...

...or Sophia could dress as a nurse in white stockings and suspenders and carry the cigarette onstage on a silver tray.

Think we'll leave that part to Sophia please John. Even at age 80.

I don't have a link to a video, but I did enjoy when in the movie with Clark Gable, 'It Started in Naples', she sang, 'I Want to Be Americano'. It was quite a bit better than the others here.

Eek! I like "Poker Face" but Gaga in meat-dress is too much, let's have some more Sophia quick:

Sophia Loren has a great voice and is a wonderful singer IMHO. Never mind the naysayers
And Lady Gaga has a really great voice as well , but she is a fruitcake.

Thanks for the link John! Now that I've seen this again, it is not anywhere as good vocally as some of the other links posted here. Thank you all, I enjoyed watching and listening to them (except for Lady Gaga

).

Mary - "Americano" may not reach the dizzy heights of "Zoo Be Zoo Be Zoo", but it is still a nifty little number!
By the way, I've just added "It Started in Naples" to my DVD collection.
