Son of the legendary Leonard Cohen, Adam Cohen will head to Australian shores for a series of intimate shows next March. Adam Cohen will embark on his first Australian tour showcasing the unique and distinctive voice that has made him a success in his own right.

Born in Montreal, Canada in 1972 to Leonard Cohen and then-wife Suzanne Elrod, Adam has been a musician ever since he could walk, “always banging on teacups and the backs of chairs, stomping my foot and trying to whistle”.

With the release of his latest album, Like A Man (available through Shock) in October this year, Cohen is embracing his family’s inheritance with an intimate album of romantic poetic folk-pop that has echoes of his father Leonard’s finest work.

Leonard Cohen’s son, Adam, brings his familial talent to Australia for the first time in March 2012.

Cohen inherited the musical gene and was making a racket way back as a baby, then teaching himself to play piano, guitar and drums before he was in his teens.

Cohen released his first solo album in 1998 and performed with the group Low Millions.

This year he delivered his third solo album Like A Man, which pays homage to his father Leonard, while also exploring his feelings about his own fatherhood.

He said about the album, “I was never terribly preoccupied with living up to my family name, and not until I was sitting at the dinner table with my father to my left and my two-year-old son to my right, did I realise I really wanted to, and was ready to”.

It’s easy to spot the influence in his gentle, intimate, poetic folk and he’ll be playing equally personable venues around Australia for the first time.

He’ll be joined by up-and-coming singer-songwriter Gossling for all the dates.

Frontier members ticket pre-sales kick off at 3pm next Tuesday 6 December and general tickets go on sale from 9am next Friday 9 December (except the Adelaide show, which is on sale the next day).

but Adam, he was incredible.
usually I'm a bit speechless, but for some reason...
a photo of his signature I obtanied, inspired me to write a poem/verses/song.
not sure I'm ready to share, but if anyone went to the concert they would totally understand all the nuances of it and I think enjoy it.

So I went to see Adam perform in Toronto a couple of weeks ago on October 26th

It was a great concert, lovely music, in a warm and inviting venue, a Trinity St. Paul's United Chuch.
Adam was very personable, sharing his BIG news that "Like a Man" had gone gold, telling us about his son and before finishing his encore, he invited us to come meet him after the concert to chat, say hello, share a kiss LOL (Adam shared a funny story about drinking with Bill Murray in a Toronto bar and him saying to people "please no photos, only kisses" which he was only too happy to replicate)

the day after I was inspired to name the photo I took of my CD sleeve and doll that Adam graciouly autographed for me...

as I was thinking of a name for the above photo, "something incredible" came over me and out of me... and I wrote this poem/or song as I'd like to say, it's just waiting for a melody.

I think this is a great momento for me and for anyone who was there..
