La protégée de Léonard Cohen, NEEMA, est de retour avec un album très personnel, Watching You Think coréalisé avec Pierre Marchand (Sarah McLachlan, Ron Sexsmith) et un certain Leonard Cohen, qui a aussi signé le portrait de la pochette.
Le parcours de NEEMA est loin d'être banal. Cette trentenaire aux racines égyptiennes et libanaises a bourlingué de par le monde, croisant le Dalaï Lama et Mère Teresa, en plus d'oeuvrer auprès d'enfants de la rue dans divers pays du monde.
Optant pour une approche dépouillée où blues, country et world viennent épicer le folk, NEEMA offre un chant détendu et chaleureux, parfois près de la narration.
NEEMA nous présentera son répertoire le 2 juillet au Divan du Monde

That's great news that NEeMA's European tour is coming together. The bad news for me is that it looks as if she might be in the UK when I am on holiday in the US (late June / early July).

I hope that everyone has an opportunity to see NEeMA while on tour in Europe. She is an artist in every sense and has great potential. I had the opportunity to see her perform in New York and I also met her after the show. She is a very warm and genuine individual . Well worth seeing...

***She will be touring in about 10-15 countries in Europe, starting in mid-June, both with her own shows and supporting other artists.

NEeMA's website now has 28 June in Ljubljana ... but the only thing I can find is a Jeff Beck concert (yawn) ... could she really be the support act for Jeff Beck ... could she be persuaded to pop over to Zagreb the day after for a more intimate concert without him

At least you've got a chance to see her if you want to Paul. NEeMA is playing Birmingham (less than an hour from my home) on July 8 and I'll be in - Boston. Bad timing or what? Alas, I couldn't spot a single date that I can get to. I missed her by one day in San Francisco last December and it looks as if I am destined to miss here in Europe this summer as well.

Does anyone know anything about the July 13 show in Zurich Jarkko included in his list? This is the only headline show I could possibly make but it's not mentioned in the press release or Marie's list of dates.
