Will Leonard be Back? Seems unlikely

Post by lightasabreeze »

My nephew who saw Leonard in California last week said that when Leonard finished the concert and was thanking everybody
He finished up with "I don't know if I will be back"

I feel sure Leonard will put no pressure on himself, if after a rest and other projects, such as his new album recording, he feels the urge to tour again he will do it. If he feels no such urge, he won't. He is now in the happy position to have that choice, depending on health, strength and so on. And I am sure we are all happy he is in this position and wish him well.

When he was pretty much forced by circumstance to go back on the road, I don't think he really wanted to and was worried about whether he could fill venues (it seems ridiculous now after the stupendous success of the Tour), he and we were rewarded by the magic of the music he and his troupers seranaded us with. With the wonders of the Internet we have all been able to follow him around the world, revelling in the recordings by fans on YouTube. Whatever evils the Internet carries, these recordings have left a vast legacy we could never have imagined before 2008. We are awash with splendour and good fortune.

I am not a believer, but if anything has put a twinge of doubt in my mind it is the feeling that 'someone' is up there looking after Leonard, now that we have seen what has happened over the last three years. We all know he is no angel!! But he has this goodness and kindness that spills out, we all know and feel it, and (if there is one) the Almighty knows it too.

Bless you Leonard, and thank you for all the joys past and to come.

Such a beautiful and fitting message, Evie B. Since I do believe in an Almighty, I readily give the Almighty credit for the joy Leonard has been able to give us and more importantly able to receive for himself. So much deeply deserved validation for a long-ago commitment to writing and excellence that he made for his life and which has richly informed both his and ours.

All my love follows his footsteps.

Don't forget that Leonard has said in the past that he wants to emulate Alberta Hunter, who was performing at age 82.....

Isn't Tony Bennet round a bout 80 now? He is still singing to an audience.
Leonard is still a young man !!

How very true. And he usually said this near the beginning of the concert. Which is why I was so surprised at two of the European concerts I attended when he made additonal more optimistic comments at the end. I did not have my camera running, so I made notes in my little "administration book" (as Wybe calls it)

Here are my two notes.

Well, if the last 3 years have taught us anything, it is that life is full of wonderful surprises .....

Let's hope Leonard is missing being out on the road as much as we are!

Well said Wendy. Let's hope indeed. He did tell Eva in Katowice he would be back. What will be will be and never say never is my motto ;-)

Notwithstanding Leonard's mythical stature, he is human...............invigorated by world wide acceptance, complete with standing ovations.........nothing like being loved unconditionally!.......especially coming from a history of depression.

He will return.
