Sixties Icon and Fugs co-founder Tuli Kupferberg left the planet on July 12 of this year 2010. A large celebration of his 87th birthday was held at the Judith Malina's Living Theatre in Manhattan on the Lower East Side, Clinton Street, in fact, where "there's music on ... all through the evening " at the Leonard Cohen song goes. There were so many people who wanted to pay tribute there was no time to hear all of them.
This is the photomontage video I made to open the show. It astounded me that the last picture of Tuli I included started winking at me. It was a still digital photo and no-one has yet explained how this is possible except we know that spirit is electricity:
