Dilemmas


Is this life I wonder as day turns into night
Is there hope I wonder as dark replaces light
Do we hide alone in shadows just longing to be seen
Or seek some new existence more shiny and pristine

Do the homeless need a shelter does the cripple need a crutch
Do we over state the suffering or ignore the pain too much
Do we act out selfish instincts in the hope of being set free
Or do we pray for others to protect their dignity

Do we seek someone’s forgiveness when forgiveness has long gone
Then become too weak and feeble when we really should be strong
Do we memorise the records of deeds long gone and past
So we can live another day as if it is our last

Does life just bring dilemmas that are pertinent to me
Or is all the world in crisis for everyone to see
Am I longing for some answers that are recognised as true
Which not only bring dilemmas but create solutions too

for the writer this can be a dilemma if he is only here to share not to learn.

for the cheerleader this can be a dilemma if she wants all to see how generous and bountiful she is in her praise.

for the critic this can be a dilemma if he wants to soften his opinion to protect the sensitivities of the writer and the cheerleader.

for this critic there is no dilemma. I can give you a chance to learn how to improve considerably your poem.
