I saw Michelle Shocked last week, in an intimate venue in Cardiff, and she was tremendous. She sang this (new) song. She addresses the USA as if she was talking to someone she is in a failing relationship with. Well worth a listen.

Thanks so much for that...I've played it several times. I bought "Anchorage" on 12 inch vinyl when it was released, but never gave Michelle Shocked another thought until now. I've just been reading interviews on the net, and it's clear she's been through a lot of interesting changes.
