I'm waiting for information from AEG about the third concert. Will be back with news as soon possible. (I'm sure the third concert will happen - the local promoter was just faster with the announcement than AEG)

In De Standaard I couldn't resist replying to a stupid reaction of a reader about the third concert:
http://www.standaard.be/meningen/forum/ ... id=1662518.
I'm sorry it's in Dutch, but Google translation can help a lot...

Hi Dirk,
First of all: welcome to the Forum. I'm happy to see you've finally made it to Cohen World as an active member!
Secondly: thanks for the reply on the newspaper article.
Finally: can I recommend your site to any Dutch speaking members?

(I stumbled upon Dirk's site a couple of years ago by accident...)
Regards,
Maarten

what a wonderfull news, this third concert. and Dirk: I really like your site and the way you give your own words to your Cohen songs.
Jarkko, since there are already three concerts in Gent, and sold out so soon, is there a chance that Leonard will come to us in Holland?

I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask -- but I was wondering if anyone knows the seating capacity of the square (for however they've chosen to configure it)?

The Sherpa Site is working in a strange way... It seemed the Golden circle was sold out in 10 minutes or so, I was too late, so I purchased tickets in Parterre D ,which is also good. But I kept trying and looking, over and over, and all of a sudden there were tickets available again in the Golden Circle. I asked for two, but there was only one left, in the first row!!! I bought it, of course! And later, I kept checking, and asking for 2 tickets in the golden circle, and they 'told' me these seats were not 'together' (besides each other). I 'said' it was okay, and I saw one of the two seats was NEXT to my other single seat in the front row!!!! So I bought them too!! So after trying for one hour and 15 minutes, I menaged to have two seats besides each other in the front row golden circle!!! I still can't believe it! I'm am a lucky 'bastard', aren't I?

So now I have a lot of tickets...If I can't find friends to join me, I will sell them here on the Leonardcohenfiles.com

Hi Tinkie,
It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one who will attend these 3 concerts in a row. I'm afraid people will
start getting worried about my mental condition ...
We are indeed extremely spoiled and privileged over here !
See you in Gent ( and in Marseille and Lille).

I read in a Belgian newspaper that the capacity of the St Peters Square is +/- 8000 spectators.
Greetings,

Hi
I was quick and lucky enough to get front row seats for Ghent on 20 August!! So much looking forward to it!!
I'm sure it'll be a warm sultry night with the moon and stars out....but I just wondered if anyone had any tips for if it's raining - apart from the obvious waterproof jacket. I think it rained at Weybridge and Dublin. It's obviously going to upset the people behind if you put up an umbrella, but I don't really want water dripping off my nose, my trousers soaked through and water in my wine!!
See you there!
Cilla

It's been a great day!!! I logged on to sherpa.be at 7.40 am my time this morning, mobile broadband working fine at 3G ... then I lost the 3G connection at 7.58 am, just before the tickets went on sale! I was totally despondent. I was prepared for disappointment but this was so unfair. Not even a fighting chance of a decent ticket. I rebooted ... still only a 2G connection and the first page took 15 mins to load ... by the time I was on the ticket allocation screen, row 20 was the best on offer ... I clicked back ... another 10 mins .... selected one seat in the Golden Circle again and went off to get washed ready for work. I was just going back to my computer to close it down around c 8.45 am my time when the page finally loaded for a second time and offered me - FRONT ROW! What?? I didn't dare breathe, let alone change the page to French so I struggled through the payment pages in Dutch. It must have worked as I have a ticket confirmation.
I was very late for an important meeting at an external site but I have a ticket so who cares?
Oh, and whilst I was out, a British Telecom engineer arrived at our house to install a new telephone cable. We have "proper" internet for the first time in almost 4 weeks.
So I'm back in the modern world and I'm going to three concerts in a row in Ghent. Hooray!
Wendy

After being too late to order a ticket for the first two gigs, I finally managed to get trough this morning. I'll be seing the Master on sunday in my hometown (well, I don't exactly live in Ghent, but I'm studying there)! I park my car every day under the very location of a Leonard Cohen concert. The setting will be beautifull, the Saint-Peter's abbey is illuminated at night, at walking distance of the historical centre.
Don't worry for the weather. We all know Belgium is famous for its sunny summers

Remember Bruges, where the sun broke trough minutes before the starting of the concert, giving us a beautifull rainbow...
Definitely looking forward to this!
What a great news to announce for a first post!
