[footnotes for all those unfamiliar with the Newfoundland dialect: "Sheila's Brush" is a fierce storm and heavy snowfall that follows St. Patrick's day. According to an old rhyme: "Paddy walks the shores around/And Sheila follows in a long white gown", Sheila being Paddy's wife.
