HI Sandra~

There is no minimum. You can make it as short as you like, just no more than a 1000 words.

The beginning of this thread has the other 'rules' listed.

If you have more questions....feel free to ask.

regards,
Laurie

Hi Laurie

I hope I've not missed anything (in another thread), but whilst it is clear that the winning story of this comp will be featured in the Berlin booklet, I'm not sure if all the entered stories will eventually be posted here so we can read them (given that it will not just be the winning entry that is meritorious or interesting).

I suspect that, if it goes like the poetry comps, they will be. 8)

Cheers :)

Hi Andrew (Darby)~

The plan is (like we have in the past with the poetry comps) to post all the stories here on the forum once the winner is announced.

Stay tuned 8)

Laurie

Great! :D

Will the winner also be sent a copy of the Berlin booklet with his/her story in it?
Only just found this video of LC:

Hi Fljotsdale~
Will the winner also be sent a copy of the Berlin booklet with his/her story in it?
Good question.

If the winner is not a participant in the Berlin event (meaning they would already be in line to get a booklet) I think it is a good idea they have access to a booklet.

I will pass this idea onto the Berlin folk. Hopefully it is 'do-able.' I'll get back with you when I have an answer.

Laurie

The 10th is looming closer and closer...

So I need to establish a T.i.m.e. for the closing of the short story contest.

I think it should be:

Midnight Pacific time, on the 10th.

To be most precise that would be One Minute before the clock on in the Pacific time zone turns over to 12:01 on October 11.

My reasoning is that it is most likely the westerly most time zone needed to accomodate any potential entries. Alaska is one hour earlier, but I doubt there is anyone besides me in Alaska posting and we all know I am not going to submit a story...

So...Midnight on the 10th. Pacific Time.

I will add this to the first post in this thread, also.

Laurie

thanks you for being so pacific.

for those of us yet to write a single word for a comp. entry it's nice to know that we still have lots and lots of time (oy!).

My mitigation? I have been greatly distracted by the fact that the Mighty Bees have been drawn to play Manchster United away, in the Cup. How can I think about owt else?

logistical issues, David has to get 2 days off from the army and I need to disappear mid-trial. will we win? of course not. but a great day out for me and 3 kids, (and 5,000 other Barnet fans) (and a winning one for 50,000 Man U fans.)

altogether now,

OH, WE HATE MAN U
AND WE HATE MAN U
HATE MAN U
AND WE HATE MAN U

etc etc. this will be proudly and provocatively sung by me (and any other brave loonies) at the main Manchester railway station, so if i never post again after 26th October, goodbye, it was fun. I hereby grant you permission to publish posthuthingy my winning short story entry (yet to be started).
