In reply to burningviolin and billsbar,
I was at the Judy Collins concert too; it was good to see Judy looking and sounding so well, and I found her chat interesting and amusing - eg her thanks to Elizabeth Arden at the end, and her relief that she never fell in love with Leonard, just with his songs !
However, I would have preferred more of her earlier "folksier" work ( I bought some cd s of that at intermission ) Songs like "over the Rainbow", "Send in the Clowns" etc. don't do much for me. I was disappointed that she did only one of Leonard's songs, a rather nasty version (I thought) of Bird on the Wire. And I would happily have done witout her "Musical director" on the piano - she and just her guitar would have been preferable, or her own piano accompaniment. Not as impressed by K White as you were, Billsbar; "support" acts are always stop gaps I think . Someone else on the forum once posted that Leonard's concerts had spoiled her; true ! Found myself pining for that great band sound, that great atmosphere, and 3 hours plus with no "support" ! Still, I was glad to hear her; she might not pass this way again.
