I'm 99% sure Lenny will be playing London, probably the Albert Hall again. I wouldn't mind having to travel to Europe though. A few years back Tom Waits did a European tour that skipped England, so I had to see him play live in Paris, but the audience was fantastic, nothing like us reserved Brits.
Incidentally, if there are any Tindersticks fans reading this and you want to beat the touts/scalpers, you can phone the Festival Hall box office after midday tomorrow (Wednesday) and pre-book tickets for Tindersticks' concert on May 3rd using the password "Chickpea"
Ah, if only we could pre-book Cohen tickets the same way...

About the Glastonbury appearance, the official website actually says...
"There have been a lot of rumours circulating about this year's Glastonbury bill, so we wanted to clear up the truth as it stands. The only acts which are definitely confirmed to play are the ones that we have revealed here on the official Glastonbury website. No other artists have been officially announced. That includes both Neil Diamond and Leonard Cohen. We would love to have both of those artists playing at the Festival, but we have to stress that neither are currently confirmed to play."
So, it seems not even Glastonbury is definite.

Thanks, Geoff. That's what I have tried to say already on page 21 of this thread!

(...) For the time being there is not a single venue confirmed (and that includes Glastonbury, too, although the festival organisation has made some advance info public), so we have to wait until the schedule is ready.

This is simply amazing news! I had pretty much given up hope, surrendered myself to the fact that I was simply born to late to ever get the opportunity to see Leonard Cohen perform live! I'm holding my breath and crossing my fingers, hoping I will be able to get tickets! The venue does'nt matter much. I'm sure my bank will understand the logic in me spending some of their money on a plain ticket to a city in Europe...

Bono? I re-watched the film "I'm Your Man" a few days ago (to distract myself from the tour-details-waitng-ordeal),
I very much hope that I get to see Mr Cohen on this tour, and I also very much hope that Bono does NOT suddenly appear on stage and pollute the concert with his massive and patronizing ego. (just my opinion - i don't intend to annoy anyone with my dislike of Bono)
Finally: I very much hope Leonard comes to Berlin or Vienna!
best from Berlin

Since I heard "Dance me to the end of love" back in the eighties when I was just a toddler my dream has been to see Leonard live in concert. And now, after the first announcement of the new tour was made it seems I've become a internet addict, searching for dates and venues. I am happy to see so many of you around the world feel the same. Up to this very moment I've been considered sort of a freak listening ONLY to this "old guy". It's really nice to meet all of you. I hope to see at least some of you at any of the concerts in Europe.
I've got two kids (4 and 1 yrs old) who already listen to Lennie's music and we are making our Daddy into it as well. I know, this time, with the family on my side, I will manage to fulfill my dream.

It may be worth keeping an eye on the websites of likely venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in the next few days. It's not unknown for venues to jump the gun and post details of shows before the artist's management has gotten around to making an official announcement.
