Hello for the fifth time!

Certainly I did not anticipate receiving so many responses - the Cohenites here are one friendly bunch :)

John, thanks for your encouraging comments :D

As someone who's only been working for a couple of years, spending money on a trip like this can only be described as SPLURGING. However, I like to think that instead of splurging on 'the latest hit' (i.e. gadgets and prestige goods), I have chosen to splurge on 'the wisdom of old' 8)

Geoffrey, you made a fair and interesting comment:

There is a curious pleasure in knowing that there are still many, many people who have never heard of LC.

Thanks for your views, everyone. What a vibrant forum this is!

Are you nuts?

Not at all. You're just one of us!

Are not slugs simply escargots without a shell? No need for the hammer then - nothing less appetizing than a flat escargot. Or perhaps we can train Lizzy's blue jay (enchanting story) and some of it's friends to fly over and take care of your problem.
Ooops, off topic - horo, after the concert, you will realize there was no reason to ask this question in the first place and you will feel right at home on this forum :D

Dear MaryB and clo,

Many thanks for your comments - I thought we were done with this thread :D
MaryB wrote:Are not slugs simply escargots without a shell?
MaryB, I was reminded of an awful joke:

Once there was a snail who was tired of being slow. He went out and bought a really fast sports car and had the dealer paint a big 'S' on each side of it.

Whenever someone saw him zooming past in his new car, they would say, "Hey, look at that S-car go!"

... though if ever LC decides to re-work it into one of his songs (in a bout of madness, perhaps), I know I'll be a fan

I wish there would be someone crazy enough to bring a blue jay in a cat cage where I work, then I would not be so depressed by my vacations ending tomorrow...

Far flying Cohen nuts would be welcome too!

I love your response, Darling :) . Thanks for including me on that, Mary, and appreciating my story :) .

By the time I returned from Krakow [actually 3 days after I left for it], my blue jay returned to his life in Nature. My former vet, who had enlisted the help of his technician, ending up taking it home when his daughters got excited about it and wanted to take care of it.

... and thus the bluejay (on the wire) story draws to a close.

Thanks for your posts, Darling and lizzy.

The Sydney concert's just over two months away - can't wait!

Great ending to a great story. :)

Hi Lizzy,

Thanks.

It's exactly two months to my Sydney concert, so I just had to post something today :D Interestingly enough, it's also been announced that LC will be ending his 'never-ending' world tour in December:

Whew! The final four shows are in the US - lucky, lucky you!

Posts like yours are precisely why I love this forum - makes me feel completely sane :D

You got tickets to LC's final show in Vegas? How very lucky!

Hi Lester,

great thread you have created here.

I wonder what Leonard will be thinking when reading all this. Maybe: "My Oh My! I didn't have to go on a world tour after all.
I could have given 250 concerts in Las Vegas, they would have come!!!" 8)

PS flying from Antwerp to Vegas myself!

Cheers & enjoy Sydney

Guy

Dear Guy,

Thanks! This was my very first thread - I wanted to see just how crazy Cohenites could be :)

Your comment gave me a good laugh

By the way, I hope you realise that you've lit a thin green candle with your signature

Kidding, kidding :) You have a great time in Vegas.

Lester

P.S. Exercise restraint in Vegas. Don't spend too much time watching out for the card that is so high and wild...
