Yes, of course, I'd surely buy the DVD, as it's worth it, as you said, were it not for my having easy access
to a copy of it. There's something different about the experience of watching it on broadcast
TV, though. It may be this way for others too. Have found that even hearing Leonard Cohen (and others)
on the radio can be a somewhat different listening experience than playing the same music on my
own. The medium can affect the experience.

Crass fundraising--maybe, but there is a silver lining. It was viewing this show back in 2009 on PBS that was the genesis of my rediscovery of Leonard Cohen. Before the PBS fundraiser in 2009 all I had were LC's first 3 albums (on vinyl); today I have all of his albums on CDs, some of his writing, the memory of seeing him live in 2010, and the expectation of seeing him 3 times this year! All in all, it was well-worth sitting through the fundraising pitches.

That is the day that I have discovered Leonard also. Since then I also have all the Albums, cd's, books, dvd's and pictures galore. Will see him soon in the US.
