Westside Brewery is either closed or undergoing some renovation that doesn't look too close to finishing, it's all boarded up on the outside.

I forgot to mention, there's a place called the Shark Bar right next to Candle Bar, so maybe the pool players in the group can head over to Candle....both these spots look small.


Citrus Grill(Citrus something...) is right there too, it's much bigger. Serves food.

Westside Brewery would have been good, much bigger than the smaller places across the avenue.

And folks, I was slightly off on location of Josie's....it's actually at back of Beacon Theater block, on corner.

One of my favorite old haunts for post Beacon drinks has always been the Dublin House, an old Irish bar. It's on 79th Street between Amsterdam and Broadway.

It's fairly spacious but can fill up quickly.

Linda and I plan to go into Manhattan on Saturday, 2/7 --- intend to check the area around the Beacon and will specifically talk to Manhattan Diner, P.D. O'hurley and Dublin House. I am thinking we need an area where 100 people won't crush each other.

The numbers could be smaller than that, for sure, but why chance it? As I've heard some places described, I've wondered how it would possibly work. So, even if we end up just a dedicated few in a corner, we'll at least fill the corner . Better to over-prepare, I'd say. With any number coming from so far, I can't imagine they wouldn't want to meet up, afterward... but, then, this is New York !

Lightning has confirmed with me on attending the concert; I don't know that we've specifically talked about the post meet-up, though. I'd think she'd be there for at least a little while.

How about arranging two meetups, one on the 18th and one on the 19th after the concert? If the concert on the 19th doesnt end until after 11pm people might feel too tired or might rather go back to their hotels. What do people think?
