That's a very interesting selection, pipkinra. I'm wondering if you're Canadian.

Not Canadian but love French Canada, especially Quebec City. And France of course.

Hi pipkinra ~
I've never been to France, but I certainly know what you mean about Quebec City, perhaps the closest thing to Paris without having to cross the water. I loved French Canada, too, and unless it's undergone massive change, still do. I would be so happy if you were to say you're from France.

Buenos Aires is the most European city of the Americas and, as poet Facundo Cabral has stated, the most Americanized European city.... Caruso went to sing at the Colon Theater in BA before he went to the Metropolitan in NY.... BA is my favorite place outside the US after Paris...
musical preferences...other than LC:
-opera (Domingo tops the list)
-country (Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks)
-Latin: tropical sounds, Tango, Mariachi
-Pop: Charles Aznavour, Edith Piaf, Whitney Houston, Neil Diamond, Pink Floyd, Eurythmics, Rod Stewart

With no disrespect to LC--
Mozart's operas, especially Don Giovanni and Die Zauberflote, definitely contain the most amazing music ever written. Most of the lyrics are pretty silly, but the melodies are heavenly. It really is a pity the man died in his thirties.
I also love Schubert, Bach, Mahler, Bruch, Mendelsohn, Rimsky-Korsakov, George Gershwin, and many others too numerous to list.

Hi Suzanne ~
I also love listening to classical and opera [I won't mention all the names] and, of course, find no conflict whatsoever with my love of listening to Leonard. It's the comparing-apples-and-oranges phenomena.

I was listening to Jeff and Tim Buckley, and then the sadness set in.
Now, only silence again.

oh.. and i was just thinking about asking you people if you ever listen to classical music and if so, what do you like...
It seems as i was late

I don't listen to it verymuch but sometimes when i do , i enjoy mostly Sibelius, Grieg, Vivaldi and Mozart
