Congratulations Jarkko!
The Files was an amazing achievement in itself and much appreciated in an almost Leonard free world (as it appeared at the time). We bought our first PC in 1997 and I was a frequent visitor from then, long before I discovered how many wonderful people there were out there to share my LC obsession with via the forum, concerts and meet ups, both official and ad hoc. Thank you Jarkko for the riches you have brought to my life via your project.

Congratulations Jarkko and the team! Not only for your tireless efforts in marshalling the forum(s) magnificently but for all that you have done for our international community, the organisation of events, the meetups and the concert ticketing prioritisation. So many life enhancing events and friendships that many of us have enjoyed through the years and hope to continue sprang out of the Leonard Cohen Files.
Many thanks!

Hearty congratulations, Jarkko

Thanks so much for all of the wonderful things you have facilitated for us diehard fans with the advent of the Leonard Cohen Files, that has resulted in the provision of so much vital information and allowed our participation in so many rewarding experiences with those of like mind, which would not have otherwise been realised to the same extent by us individually. This online capacity and associated chat room, newsgroup and forum mechanisms amounted to a unique meeting place, provided us with a new community of friends around the world and with friendships that were then deepened by subsequent face-to-face contact at events and gatherings etc.
I discovered Leonard in 1973, but during the seventies and eighties I sometimes wondered if anyone else in the world felt the way I did about Leonard, as I lived in my own little confined Cohen world, one that a lot of the time I felt quite isolated in, especially being “Down Under” where hardly anybody knew who Cohen was, except maybe for a few musically enlightened folkie types.

Eventually I broke through some of this feeling of being from another planet by organising and running my own LC Birthday events, from 1993, starting with just a small group of people who could appreciate Cohen (though, apart from one or two exceptions, were not really dedicated fans).

However, the big breakthrough came when I discovered the LC Files, after I went online in year 2000, this resulting in the joyous and liberating realisation that I was not alone in my deep appreciation of Leonard... so again, my deep heartfelt thanks, Jarkko.
Cheers,
Andrew
