the same happened to me.
I liked it, liked the karaoke, loved the man with the beer and cigarette, he looked so into it. Did Rufus Wainwright insult him?? I did not undersatnd his comment. I thought some of the footage looked like the Austin City limits concert http://www.pbs.org/klru/austin/artists/program409.html too bad ther are no clips. Maybe they will repeat the show, does anyone watch PBS????

Comments have been made about the contributions of Nick Cave and Kathryn Williams, but those of Arthur Brown, Paul Morley and Ian McCulloch are equally valid. Tom Sakic got it right in his post (March 30th). It's what he did for me.

I was watching my video of it again today and the voiceover said that Rufus Wainwright covered Hallelujah for the first Shrek movie.

Now surely that was not Rufus at all but in fact the legendary Mr. John Cale??

Aha, I just checked it

Rufus is on the soundtrack CD (which I have never heard)

But in the actual film (which I have seen) it is indeed the legendary Mr John Cale

Hence the confusion!

Kathryn Williams's "I wanna shag Leonard Cohen" talk maybe was little funny, but it's not different from the usual women talk about Cohen (check the article here by Marlene Arpe - that's much worse). On the other hand, after that docu I received Kathryn's CDs, and she's just great. Her Halleujah is my favourite cover of the song, for now.

Dear Tom,
The cover version of "Hallelujah" which sticks in my heart is Jeff Buckley's from his album "Grace".
Maybe it's because of his tragic, untimely death, or the longing in his beautiful voice, but this is my favourite....to date!
