Thanks Joy. That sounds great! We'll be there at 4.30pm and can be there at closing time too.

Sydney Opera House on Monday and then Auckland soon after! WOW!

Cheers

Hi all

First of all: I'm in favour of both pre and post concert meetups, of course! And I'll go where-ever you guys lead me so I'm fine with any meetup venue you suggest.
Those of you staying in Auckland for a couple of days: any suggestions on hotels or places to stay (the same goes for Wellington, by the way)?

Another thing: I will be going to the Wellington shows before traveling to Auckland for the final concert. Anyone with the same traveling plans? Who's flying from Wellinton to Auckland, who's driving by car, who's using public transportation, ... ? I haven't really looked into any of the possibilities yet, but time is closing in so I need to start preparing I guess!

See you all soon!
Maarten

We will go to all of the 4 NZ shows but planning some travelling in between. We will take the Coastal Pacific train and ferry from Christchurch to Wellington and buses after that. For buses check nakedbus. For cheap flights try Jetstar Airways.

Hi all,
I'm a newcomer to this forum - I thought I was a huge Leonard Cohen fan until I found you guys!! I have only seen him twice - at Glastonbury Festival in 2008 and London o2 in 2013. I am due to see him again in Auckland on 21st.
Similar to the way you guys are planning a meet-up to extend the experience, i am planning a small gathering of people to share Leonard's music and poetry together on the night before the gig - 20th December - venue TBC but it will be in Auckland. So everyone is welcome even if they aren't going to the gig - it's just a space where people can enjoy sharing Leonard's work. It doesn't matter how experienced you are playing / singing - it's all about the enjoyment and of course everyone will be singing along :-)
Let me know if you are interested / able to come along and I'll keep you posted. I'll find a free and reasonably quiet venue who are happy for us to be there. It might end up being in a home, depending on numbers.
Best wishes
Kev

Hi All,

We will be in Auckland for the concert too (all very last minute and exciting!) so if a table is being booked at the Crown please add two more.

See you soon,

Tracey and Jim

Hey BM,

That's such exciting news regarding you and Jim! 8)

It makes my capitulation re the Geelong gig seem a bit more ordinary. ;-)

Enjoy! Also, please say a special hello to Maarten for me.

Cheers,
Andrew :)

... and maybe Jim now wishes he had let me do the Palais and Adelaide.

I think I might have an opportunity to say hello to Maarten for you.

Great decision Tracey! (although the 96 tram would've been cheaper  )

Your withdrawal symptoms must have been even worse than mine. :)

Too bad I won't be seeing you this time around, but I'm sure there will future meetups/events where we'll meet again. I'll make sure to return my warmest greetings for you via Tracey when I see her!

That's kind of you Maarten and indeed we will, I trust, hopefully in Dublin. 8)

In the meantime, enjoy you Leonard and "down under" high! It must be nice for you to have 2 summers (one long, one short) this year too! ;-)

Cheers,
Andrew :)

Not worse Murray, just acted upon when I think I was still under the influence of a post-Hill high. I knew everyone here would understand, my family not so much.
