This new section, with its first move on Monday, will be created for long-time use.
I hate to be a kill-joy, but now we will not have anything special for members in the Southern hemisphere.

ah, it makes sense now!
because there is nothing special for our friends in the southern hemisphere, you have filed a petition to officially move antartica to the nothern hemisphere, so our penguin friends will get to see the show too? and the new section is supposed to collect as many signatures as possible? that's very kind of you, jarkko!
you'll get my signature, that's for sure!

Do you mean we have to get on with our lives rather than
Waiting For The Miracle (and Mr Cohen) to come?
Any hints about when we southern hemisphere dwellers should start to be patient?

Yes, & good thing the Brooklyn concert is on the 20th, then, & not the 21st. . .being in the presence of Leonard Cohen, on the eve of the end of the world - what more could one ask for?

While this hint doesn't disqualify Japan, I guess the "be created for a long time use" does

But there's always the miracle to wait for...

As always, Jarkko's comments entice and seduce. I'll be deep in the American rockies on Monday, but hopefully my phone will connect. I feel badly though for all our friends down-under.

Meanwhile, anxious to hear the news!

Longtime use may refer to a new album (or a new live album).

It may refer to it, but I can't imagine an album to be available only in the Northern hemisphere (I read Jarkko's hint exactly like that).

The fans in the Southern Hemisphere are not happy.

If is is an extenstion of the"Old Ideas" tour, I suggest they closely follow this year's model : announce loads of dates in expensive European cities first so that the jet-setters and catcher-uppers can do their usual number; then start adding U.K. dates but say there will be no London dates; then announce open-air dates in Kent, then change their mind and announce last-minute indoor London shows instead, so that lots of great seats suddenly become available. That would suit me perfectly, as it would give me enough time to save up for a ticket.
