Real Alan is correct to point this out. Please take it seriously!
There are nasty insects including midges, mosquitos and horse flies not just in the West of Ireland. They are capable of transmitting disease. Take it from one who has suffered from one.
I don't really care if the Tourist Board is offended, this is too serious to ignore. Wear insect repellant if in doubt. Believe me, you don't want to go home with an unwanted souvenir!

Guests, please don't worry about the midges. If it's a lovely balmy evening, just cover up as much flesh as possible and bring a little fan to keep them off your face ! If it's wet the midges won't be out, wise little creatures.

Hello! This is my first post but I am a long time lurker and fan. Saw Leonard twice last summer and had no hesitation about shelling out again when I heard about Lissadell! Could not be more excited. Praying every night from now for a nice evening...
Anyone else staying in Yeats Village?

Midges eh?
What about the band. I have been checking out some web sites with midge prevention kit, with some amazement at the scale of the problem.
Seems to me the costume department will have to be busy coming up with a completely new "look" for Mr Cohen et al for this one event combining the unlikely elements into a pleasing mix:

A very fetching outfit, rpan - I'm sure Ladydi is ordering one already !
Could be standard issue for the band too ?
You're right, Real-alan, of course it won't be wet ! (Think positive....think positive...) I see there's a full moon on July 26th., near enough.

rpan...I love the outfit!! lol...if we're all dressed like that we'll look like a convention of aliens from outer space!

I think I'll go with the repellent instead

Here's hoping for a warm balmy night, no midges, and although the full moon is a few days earlier
that we will still see some light from the moon...

Does anyone know where the moon will be that night? It might turn into a very romantic weekend!
