Hi.

I was on the concert in Warsaw.
I liked the concert very much. It was beautiful.
Bird on a Wire I liked the most. But If it be your will I liked the most, too. And the Famous Blue Raincoat was also the best. And Suzanne, I'm very happy he sang Suzanne. I liked each song.
I wished Cohen had sung the Boogie Street, and not Sharon Robinson, I like this song very much, and I like the way Cohen sings it on a CD I have.
I cried twice.

The whole seemed to me a farewell of Cohen to his fans. Songs which before were about relationships with women, now applied more to life in general. The way he kept drawing attention to other musicians on stage and their pieces, like if he said "listen to the music, the music is great", like if he did not want to be a celebrity whom thousands come to see and listen to, like if he wanted to show that he is not that important, like if he wanted to show that he would not need to be there.

Well, I hope it is not farewell. I hope he is not planning to die soon. I hope that Leonard Cohen will write and record new songs, and I will have a chance to see him again on stage.
I am thinking of going to London in November in any case.

He said the bit about not having been on stage for 15 years. He added that many things happenned in his life in that time, he took lots of prozac (listed some other chemicals I guess of similar kind), and had a religious experience.
I hope he has no depression nowadays? With so many people who appreciate him, love him, want to listen to him sing or speak.

Dear Leonard,
Thank you for the concert. I'm very glad I had the opportunity to experience it.

Leonard has said that one of the compensations for growing old is that his depressions have lifted.

I attended three of his summer concerts. I went to the first with the rather morbid feeling that we were all saying goodbye to him, but was immediately blown away by the sheer energy of the man. At subsequent concerts, I came to the contrary conclusion: that he is likely to outlive me! After all, Roshi has just had his 102nd birthday...
