very late edit: I've decided to remove myself from this thread, actually, while on this little trip I'm taking down memory lane, as it were.. I no longer know why I thought that line to be humorous.. I maybe have a little hint of why.. but it's fleeting, and it was a misreading, in any event..
.. however, in reading this thread I felt again how uncomfortable I was, trying to in some manner "fit in" where I really didn't feel to be fitting in at all..

Well, you were lucky. I've never even seen a dandelion mine. Nor can I identify the end of my adolescence, so I guess it's not too late to paint one. :-)

I walked in on him one day as he was finishing a painting. It was impressionistic, identifiable as dandelions, bright, bright yellows. He'd done the van Gogh thing - sculpting paint as a texture. I said, "Is it finished?"
He said, "Maybe, yeah, maybe."
I said, "Have you named it?"
He took a tube of dark green paint and wrote dandelion mine across the bottom of it.
I said, "Mine like belonging to me or like a mine where you get dandelions?"
He said, "Oh yeah. I guess so."
I didn't get it, but that was Jason.
