Re: where is the next live show that Leonard Cohen will sing
Hi Gadib, and welcome to the Forum.
Leonard has not been performing live since 1993.
Another tour might be in the plans but nothing has been decided.
If it happens, http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com will be the first
one to announce it on its front page, and of course this Forum
will be full of information!
All the best

Welll... according to this dubious announcement, he's touring from 2008 for the next 20 years or so!!!

So, Ken's gone into videomaking now, eh?
The voice is all but unbearable, but funny tour titles. A colour correction is needed, though. Leonard's eyes are not green.
[Where did you find this, Gina? Sent to you by someone? Do those two, comment people take this at all seriously? I almost think the one does.]
At least we'll all have plenty of opportunity to catch him on one or another of the tours.

My thoughts exactly. I found it a bit shocking and disrespectful but have to admit that I did laugh at the titles. So, Ken's gone into videomaking now, eh?

I felt the same, Joney, regarding a bit shocking and disrespectful... even though they add the "We love you Lenny" disclaimer at the end [though even that could be sarcastic]. The titles were clever, in a parody kind of way.

Well, I laughed....
It's on a par with the poetry competition on here, no? I'm sure Leonard's sense of humour is intact

I know, Gina. I thought the titles were funny. It may be the dreadful thing they did with his voice that made it so yuk to me. Granted, parody is like that... extremes. I agree with your being sure his sense of humour is intact. The upside, of course, is all the years and tours we still have ahead with him.

I'm not sure how I feel about this vid. Admittedly I laughed ... but was also disgusted.
The voice would have fit into "The Hills Have Eyes" which I been watching recently.
The vid's just as funny as disrespectful things are at times.
And keeping the balance between fun, irony and even sarcasm and bad taste is difficult, obviously.
I wonder it any of you has been watching this one:

and I also wonder if LC would find it funny. I guess he would.

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

Can't speak for LC, but I find the Air Farce parody much more funny than the new tour one.
Have enjoyed watching it several times on tape purchased shortly after Montreal 2000 event.
Good or bad, thanks anyway for posting the tour announcement Gina.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this... I guess its the same as with the tour announcement. I laughed, sure... but alsof felt a little bit ashamed.
Re: where is the next live show that Leonard Cohen will sing
I don't think this new one has much in the way of redeeming humor. At least they tried at the end to be supportive, but all in all, "embarrassing" is a pretty accurate evaluation for me too.
