Poetry Comp Deadline

Post by mickey_one »

Manna and I have so many entries to judge that we need to impose a strict deadline.

Last entry to be sent to Lizzy by Midnight Sunday/Monday New York time.

Enter now, happy later, no enter now, sad later.

I met the cohen today
he was dressed up as a stranger
English accent and big smile
and his friend was two feet bigger.

walking from the tree Filled garden
where first love,kisses just began
up against the moonlit wall
with my tounge in promised land,

chorus
'with my lover in her hand.
With my lover in her Hands

He said he lived in Surrey
just visiting our green land.
in the valley of the shadows,
Beneath the Everests of my Hands.

where buttons flew. with trembling Fingers
on moonlit night ,in summer stars
lying naked, uncut .tremours,
her taste, is still ,upon my hands,

her blood is on my palms,
consumed in passion of the moment,
stiring loins between my lines,
siping nipples of her hands.....

for my first love x

there were times when this place was dead and a poetry comp. revived it. the process was interesting. certain regulars disappeared for the duration of the comp. but their numbers were less than lurkers who resurfaced. I was always interested in those who carried on posting without acknowledging let alone joining in the contest itself. maybe those people weren't taken by the subject, or couldn't allow themselves to "compete" in however minor a way. I wonder why Jimbo openly posts a poem unconnected to the comp. on the deadline thread, but, as far as i know, doesn't join in the comp (but I don't know for sure as entries are anonymous). anyway, if you all started behaving like robots life would be boring. so thanks to those who choose to join in, to those who choose not to join in, to those who can't be bothered, to those who are hiding, to Leonard for robbing bookmakers' shops, to my sponsors, to my producers and directors, my stage-hands, my lighting assistants, my fellow basket ball players, to all basket-weavers out there, to all bastards out there, to all buzzards, to any birds, to any wires, to all you whyers, to those who have expired since I started this post, to all postmen (mail-men to you Yankees), to all you Brits and all your bits, to the Jewish New Year, to my aching shoulder, to dead bodies, to my Grand Niece 4 weeks til her birth, to the dearth of entries, to a surfeit of certainty, to eternity, from here, from me.
