Hi Phil! It was great to meet you last weekend

The 5 cds question remains the most difficult

Good wishes,

Oh, that old chestnut. Well, that question is easy to answer, cos there is no meaning to life:diane
the most difficult question , the question which has no answer -
what is the meaning of life - or not. what 5 cd's? runs a close second to that one.

1. Dear Heather: Leonard Cohen
2. Dreams That Cannot Die: Layne Longfellow
3. Stardust: Willie Nelson
4. Slow Down: Keb Moe
5. Carencro: Marc Broussard
though I don't know how I would live without:
6. Amos Lee: Amos Lee
7. Al Green's Greatest Hits: Al Green
8. Chariot: Gavin DeGraw
9. Blue Indians: John Trudell
10. The Return of the King soundtrack
Wow. I don't want to even think about making these choices!!! I can't! I have very eclectic tastes in music. This is impossible. My tummy hurts just thinking about it!
I'd rather choose which brother or sister to take with me!!!!

[Hi Voo ~ An aside here. "Al Green's Greatest Hits: Al Green" I think that's one that I still have somewhere. I was fortunate enough to see and hear him perform Live from onstage... the stage was a raised, in-the-round one, and I happened to arrive early, as I always try to do when I go to concerts alone, in hopes of getting the best seat I can, and this time in Atlanta I was quite early. I was sitting out amidst the empty chairs, patiently waiting, watching the sound man do his thing and reading something I'd brought. When he finished, he came out and sat beside me, talked for a bit, and then asked if I'd like to watch the concert from onstage. It was beautiful as Al came on strewing roses. Excellent concert. I really like his songs and singing. ~ Lizzy]

8.Tom Waits - Invitation To The Blues
9.Doru Stanculescu - De Alaltaieri Si Pana Ieri
10.Rush - Permanent Waves

Re: Which 5 Cds?
Assuming we're going for different artists...
The Essential Leonard Cohen (or if that's cheating, Songs of Leonard Cohen)
Forever Changes (Love)
Smile (Brian Wilson)
Fully Qualified Survivor (Michael Chapman)
Blue Alert (Anjani)
But if it's ten then...
Five Leaves Left (Nick Drake)
Baltimore (Nina Simone)
Scott 1 (Scott Walker)
Blonde on Blonde (Dylan)
Revolver (Beatles)
I think!

Opeth - Blackwater Park Orchid
Meshuggah - Nothing (2006 Edition)
Leonard Cohen - New Skin For The Old Ceremony.
