Newtown Rev. quotes Leonard on Newtown shooting anniversary

Post by maltmom »

Here's some links that I found doing a google search. https://www.google.com/search?q=crebbin ... annel=fflb I saw a few days ago that the Rev. Matthew Crebbin of Newtown quoted the line from Anthem, "there's a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in" in Wolf Blitzer's CNN interview. Here are links to several other interviews he's done this week...... In each one he mentions Leonard Cohen......

Re: Newtown Rev. quotes Leonard on Newtown shooting annivers

It's interesting how ubiquitous this quote is becoming. It's like 'Hallelujah' in that it seems it can be applied to every occasion.

It's also interesting how words, no matter how special they are, can be worn out by overuse.

However, the saddest thing about remembering Newtown is that nothing has happened that might prevent it happening again to another community, there was much more than a crack made in the lives of so many families and yet there's no sign of light, just a sense of resignation that life must go on.
