Thanks for everybody's help...here's a couple cents,

I doubt the bus idea is feasible. You can look into it but that kind of stuff usually costs a lot of money.

I like the dinner party night before idea...count me in!

I have to look through everything more carefully but I thought there was a suggestion of meeting pre show at the Red Rocks cafe/bar. That's a perfect idea, if that's correct?

Thanks everybody!

Thanks Greg for enlighting me on the camera issue. I used to be a pro back in the film days and concerts never were on my list of events to photograph. So now i'm considering leaving the the big glass and Nikons at home and just bring a compact camera and suffer the quality unless somebody else has any suggestions.
I would love to meet up with all of you at the preconcert get togeather but my wife and i will be staying with friends in Denver and none of them are LC fans.
Thanks much for the info
Best to all

Hi Greg,

Roman has done so much of the scouting for us and I am very, very grateful to him.

Greg, thank you SO much for your gracious offer to be our leader. I assume you have a 'unified heart flag' .

I also prefer the idea of a pre-meetup at the venue, if there is someplace we can gather informally and also get something to eat. This would give us the opportunity to get there early enough to secure a decent parking place if we are driving individually (especially if the bus idea can be a bit pricey as Denise has mentioned - worth looking into though) and still have enough time to pick-up 'Will Call' tickets. If a dinner is what everyone decides on - no problem.

It's nice to see that plans are starting to actually materialize. Thank you all!

Kindest regards,
Mary

(P.S. Still like the idea of a post-meetup in addition to the pre, but I guess that can be decided at the pre-meetup.)

Hi everyone!

This is so exciting! Even though it will be Leonard's final US concert (and he hasn't even started the tour yet), we seem to be coming up with some really concrete ideas for getting together with everyone. Our plan of the moment is to drive down from Estes Park on the morning of the 2nd...stay at the Holiday Inn West...do whatever everyone wants to do pre-concert (if it's possible to eat and/or have a drink at the venue that would be great)....stand in line for the will-call tickets...enjoy an awesome concert :D ....and then it would be fun to talk about everything post-concert somewhere! We will go with the flow.

Greg, I'm glad you will already have spent some time in the US so you won't be totally jet-lagged! And yes, you have a long email from me ;-)

I agree with Denise that a bus may be a little problematic so individual cars might be best.

And I agree completely with Mary that many thanks are due Roman for scouting out so much for us! Roman, I know how you feel. I, too, am not an organizer. For some people it's a natural and it seems Greg is so inclined. If you all do indeed decide to get together on the 1st for dinner, we may alter our plans a little as that would be fun. However, we do still have time.

All the best,
Diana

Hi everyone –
First of all, the pleasure is mine and I’m very happy to meet you all in Colorado and it is obvious that I, “native” Denverite/Coloradoan has to do the job. I’m glad that we are moving forward (thank you Greg for good ideas) with our meetup. I like the idea of pre-concert “dinner party” on Monday, June 1st because I think we will not rather have a chance for the same after concert. I opt to have it in CB & Pots or somewhere closer to Holiday Inn. On Tuesday, June 2nd we can meet at the venue and that would be our main gathering I think. They have a Restaurant there and they are open for lunch (10:30 to 2:30) and before the concert (let me check pre-concert hours). The idea of renting the bus might be a little too big but I can check that option too. I will check also alcohol/food/picnic polices of the venue but I’m afraid that no alcohol/food inside the amphitheatre is allowed; although it might be possible to have some kind of picnic in the park surrounding the venue (let me check that too).

Diana –
Oops, to tell you the truth I have never been checking my user control panel messages, so thank you for telling me that I have your and some other (rather old) messages. I’m glad that you like Mandelstam and thank you for sharing with me this beautiful story from your trip to Soviet Union. I will write you soon more about that. I have some spare Mandelstam books in English, so do not buy too many now I will give you what I've got. I am the same way crazy Mandelstamist as Cohenist.

Greetings

Hi Denise,

I think Roman is talking about the name of the place to meet up. Or maybe I spoke out of turn and you were asking what kind of place it is  .

Yes, it is getting close :D , but I think no one has posted lately in this topic because we feel we still have some time. Trust me, one way or another, there will be a meetup. How exciting this all is!

Kindest regards,
Mary

Friends –
I will be traveling during the next couple of weeks (work assignments in Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama) and I might be out of range of internet. You should hear from me again at the end of the month.
CB&Pots is a restaurant/microbrewery.
Happy Easter to everyone.

Greetings,

Roman

I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I'm speaking out of line.

The restaurant at Red Rocks is the Ship Rock Grille, which, as Roman stated earlier, is open for lunch, as well as dinner on concert dates. Their concert-night hours aren't listed, but the web page says that "reservations are highly recommended" and "concert tickets are required".

I'm hoping to find a reasonably priced ticket soon, as well as a ride, as I don't drive.

Hi klynb,

Welcome to the Forum and you most definitely are NOT speaking out of line! Your link to the restaurant was the first one I've seen and although it doesn't appear too large, the menu sounds great for pre-concert and not too expensive. I can understand the need for reservations well in advance! Within the next 3-4 weeks I think meet-up plans will all start to come together thanks to Greg from Australia who seems to be a master organizer :D , and thanks to Roman who lives in Denver and has provided us with lots of info :D .

Keep your eyes on this thread as it would be lovely to meet you at Red Rocks. There are lots of us coming from all over the country and in Greg's case, Australia, to let Leonard know how much we love him at his final US concert!

Good luck with a ticket. Have you attended any other LC concerts? If not , I would say make sure you do not miss this one! Each is an emotional experience you will never forget. You just need to scan through fans comments from previous concerts to realize how precious and exciting every moment is!

All the best,
Diana

I called the ship rock grille, they are open for lunch, close in the afternoon, and open again before show time around 6pm (when they allow people in the venue), they close after the show starts and do not open again after the show. I wonder what is available in the venue? Maybe we should meet inside. I think I would feel a little bit anxious meeting before the show starts at some restaurant outside the venue, even if it's close, I suppose I could for at least one drink...a quick one! I just love to make things more complicated than they are!!! Maybe we should all meet in the 17th row at around 6:30. Since there are a couple of us that have 17th row tickets. Anyway just kicking around a few ideas. Coming soon!!!

PS I figured out where I'm staying, it's a two hour drive away, but worth it to me, called Happy Valley Hot Springs, super beautiful and relaxing. Camping out!

I'm in the 17th row, Box of Rain 8) ! I, too, don't like to leave anything to chance before the show.
