now that I'm back from East Canada concerts, it's highest time to book Dublin hotel.
irelandin1.com calls areas of Dublin by numbers: Dublin1 up to Dublin24, where shall book to be close to IMMA ?

Attached link shows Dublin postcodes (zipcodes). Dublin 1 and 2 are where most of the tourist areas are and the IMMA in Kilmainham is in Dublin 8. I'm from Dublin (but live in London now) and years ago there was a big North of the river and South of the river divide with each side making jokes about the other (What do you call a Northsider .... etc.), ask any Dubliner. Nowadays I don't think it makes much difference which side of the river you're on but I think most of the hotels are still in the Dublin 1, 2, and 4 areas.

Dublin is quite small and easy enough to get around so don't worry too much about that. Leave plenty of time for your journey on the day, get nearby reasonably early and have a relaxing drink before the concert.

Fair point, being from the norths capital I know what you mean.
If you are coming to Ireland for the first time you will love Dublin. For a pre show walk,away from the hustle and bustle of the city I recommend trinity college ( you may even catch a cricket match ). If you are making a holiday of it ,the two places in Ireland to see are Dingle in Kerry and the beautiful North Antrim coast. Both just 3 or so hours drive away. The guinness is glorious and a top tip, a dash of port in a guiness is severely tasty. If you want to remember the show however,I would limit myself to a few

ignore this talk of Dingle and Antrim - explore the midlands, the hidden treasure of Ireland. And never mind the Guinness, treat yourself,instead, to one of damellon's deep fried Mars bars in car oil - you'll find them at her van at the gig and in (select) chip shops around Dublin.
Just ask for a Mars Bar In Car Oil (or an MBICO, as Dubliners fondly call them).
You won't be disappointed.
The fresh one, from her van, are the best by far.
Ask Margaret & Diane, they enjoyed them in Mullingar at the Anjani performance.

PPS Diane can (very occasionally) be seen helping out in the damellon chip van - note her fabulous FMBs if you get the chance! Enough to make a young man blush

Monaghan is good, its on the road to Derry, dont you know.Then you could pop into Donegal, I believe they have had traffic lights installed recently. Very fancy

Belfast I fell in Love with and in . The people are wonderful, so much to do and see. Not to be missed.
