Holy man. Thanks Lizzy. I know Sharon will do the song justice. Thanks for digging around. I 'really, really appreciate your input. - all we have to do now, is .... wait. Hurry up and ....wait.
See you later,
Linda.

My pleasure, Linda . All of it is completely new to me. Was I on holiday or not paying attention at some point a while back?
I was getting a little worried for a bit, as even though Diana Ross's name was in the same blurbs, I kept finding something about "The Fresh Prince" abutting "Summertime" and it was some film clip, which I didn't play out to the end. Thought there must be a more direct way, if it's even there, at all.
I love your signature tons, by the way .

Oh, thanks on the sig. I had one of the most depressing sigs for a while (from Leonard's Story of Isaac). Then, a friend actually 'showed me the light' - offered something else, and it was then that I realized that I should probably be a little more upbeat. So, yeah, it feels better having something that 'feels good', like a 'loooove' sig.

Linda, the Canadian softcover edition of Mythologies (from M&S) has new layout and young photo on the cover (in red) - I recommend US edition (from Ecco Harper Collins) which is the exact reprint of the original book, with inside drawings and old type-setting...
That "Summertime" by Leonard & Sharon, I did put an mp3 here on the forum in 2006 I think, but the song is not on my server anymore, so even if you find the link, it will not work. It's nice, uplifting song about a Summer day, little melancholic but very happy in LC output
Thanks for setting me straight, Tom. The link timed out before I got to check out the covers. I guess I'll have to take what I can get, as here in Canada, it's likely that McLelland/Stewart will have the only release. After all, they hold the publishing in Canada. I 'could' buy from Amazon or whatnot, but it's easier to just walk into a bookstore. Maybe I'll get lucky and get the original layout, but I'm happy to just get the book. I wish they'd release all his poetry as they did with his older albums. His two novels have always been available. All his albums are available with a buff background with a thumbnail (well, a big thumbnail), of the original album cover. I haven't had to buy one of those yet, so I don't know what they have in the way of liner notes, etc. They're only $10.00 as well, so it's an easy purchase.
Thanks for all the info. I really miss this kind of thing. Going back in time, looking at all the old releases, anticipating the new. Some of the photos that Tom managed to find were just priceless.
Ta all,
Linda.

Invisible Tattoo is the debut album from Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/producer Sharon Robinson. The set, which will be released in June 2008, contains five new songs and five previously written tracks, including three songs co-written with Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame inductee Leonard Cohen. You can listen to three of the record's cuts on the player above, including the Cohen classic "Everybody Knows."
Look for more information about Sharon and the album on this page soon!
The question is which Sharon Robinson new album? When originally posted the album was called New Standards. Then, about six months ago, it became Invisible Tattoo. Now it appears it's to be called Everybody Knows. Better perhaps if it were called Nobody Knows. And as for a release date, again there have been several announcements. Spring, June, Spring again .... Oh well, it's great news Sharon is touring with LC and I guess we'll just have to be patient waiting for the album's release. Hopefully at least Sharon knows.
Personal taste is inexplicable. This cuts both ways. I've listened to the samples & rail against the blandness... west coast/m.o.r./jazz elevator music even.
According to the article in yesterday's Independent (My Life with Leonard) Sharon'e album will be available for download in early July and as a CD on August 19th. Also, there is now one track off the album ("Secondhand") available for download from Amazon mp3.
I was able to buy Sharon''s album on iTunes two days ago. It's official title is now "Everybody Knows," but it's there for your listening pleasure. The album's not too bad. A couple really solid originals.
