Leonard Cohen Festival in St John's, Newfoundland

A Feast of Cohen will be mounting it's number eight festival of Leonard Cohen's
songs running eight nights at the LSPU Hall in downtown St. John's, Newfoundland,
Canada.

A Feast of Cohen Live CD will be launched in early December, marking the fortieth
anniversary of Leonard Cohen's first LP release in December 1967.

Well known and not so well known tunes penned by Canadian poet-guru Leonard Cohen
are performed by a chorus of writers, actors, filmmakers, musicians, to jammed
packed audiences.

Vicky Hynes, creator and Producer of A Feast of Cohen has currently in development;
a documentary about A Feast of Cohen and its growing popularity with CBC (Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation) and Rink Rat Productions (Mary Sexton, Producer).

A Feast of Cohen VIII will run from December 27 - 30 and January 3 - 6, 2008. Vicky
Hynes, Bryan Hennessey, Colleen Power, Jill Porter, Joel Hynes, Blair Harvey, Phil
Churchill/Gerri Hollett, Amelia Curran, Sean Panting,Tim Baker and Liz Solo with The
Beautiful Losers Band: Sandy Morris, Kelly Russell, George Morgan, Dave and Geoff
Panting.

When I was younger, I never realized there could ever be in my life such a need for wealth. Eight days of Leonard's work in varying genres in Newfoundland. WoW. Looking forward to reading a report on this. It would be wonderful if someone from here attended at least a portion of it.

I have attended all eight of the annual "Feast Of Cohen" events in St. John's (we always go on my birthday) and every year gets better and better!

It started out as a single night and has grown to eight nights, with every night selling out

This year, the show was the best ever IMO and all of the local artists are to be commended for the terrific renditions of LC songs.

This year there was a live CD released which featured some performances from 2005 and 06 (should be available from http://www.freds.nf.ca/ if anyone is interested). As well, I'm sure that Vicky Hynes (see the post above) can provide more info as she is the organizer.

Maybe she doesn't know that Lori and I are fans...ok,forgiven...
now...where and when are the concerts happening??
Is that still an unknown??
