Thanks B4real for resurrecting this thread. Here are some of my favourites: "Please understand I never had a secret chart to get me to the heart of this...or any other matter" "I'll even wear these old laurel leaves he's shaken from his head" "Show me slowly what I only know...

Songs referencing Leonard Cohen

Does anyone know of songs by other artists that make reference to Leonard in the lyrics? The obvious example I can think of is the song "Pennyroyal Tea" by Nirvana, were Kurt Cobain sings the lyric: Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld So I can sigh eternally Any other examples out there??

I always thought it meant getting off drugs too. I assumed that for many years until I came across the phrase's Scientology implications and now I would go along with that interpretation.

Yes, and on Tuesday I thought he left out the "You said I took the name in vain..." verse. And the second verse of "I tried to leave you" too I think...

Re: London RAH, 17-18 November 2008

I though musically Tuesday had the edge on Monday, but somehow I felt the atmosphere was more electric on Monday (more standing ovations, more applause)...

Am I right in thinking Leonard left out a verse in Hallelujah on both nights? I may be mistaken...

Re: Find, sell or swap Fall Tour tickets here

I have a pair of tickets for the Royal Albert Hall in the Arena that anyone can have for face value, you can pick Monday or Tuesday because I was planning to go on both dates then realised that is probably too expensive...send me a PM if interested

Re: Manchester, UK (June 17-20)

I was at the Friday show and words fail me in expressing the way I feel about it. All I can say is that those few hours were some of the greatest and most memorable moments in my entire life, and I will cherish that evening forever. Thanks Leonard--we can't thank you enough.

Re: Manchester meet ups

Might it be a good idea to copy the information regarding the pub etc. onto the 'On the Road' section, as that is billed as the place to look for meetup details, and this thread is getting a bit long for any latecomers to plough through to find out where and when to go? Yes that would be wonderful....
