Re: The secret funeral of Leonard Cohen
This was indeed interesting and lead me to do some research on Oud Luban. I found the website for the creator of it and they are listing 3 types of samples available to be shipped out for anyone who wants to give it a try. The samples are listing for USA Dollars at $8 each and shipping via UPS 3 day...

Maarten,
So sorry to hear about the loss of both of your parents and in such a short time frame from one another. Sending prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.

Re: Leonard Cohen: previously unpublished novel to be released in autumn
This is great news! Even better Robert Kory all but said there will be more stuff coming in the future and with Leonard's blessings too!! At least that's how I interpret his statement since he says LC said before he died in regards to his archive "...fans and scholars to one day discover"....

RIP Michel Robidoux
For those that are keeping score, another of Leonard's collaborators has left us. Canadian musician Michel Robidoux passed away on October 31, 2021 at the age of 78. He worked with LC in 1988 on a couple of tracks on the "I'm Your Man" album. Specifically he co-produced and played keyboard...

Re: Tony Palmer's "Lost" LC 1972 Concert Video Online Now
Thanks Weilin! I missed that it is on youtube too. I also updated the original topic about this project with the new links to the video. I honestly was not thinking correctly, I should have posted it there from the start instead of creating a new topic for it. That way everyone that posted in that o...

Tony Palmer's "Lost" LC 1972 Concert Video Online Now
Happy New Year to all on the forum! After the surprise gift we received a couple of weeks ago of the release of the 1970-71 Copyright Recordings, it seems a shame not to have a little something else for everyone to enjoy for the beginning of the New Year :!:. So below are links to the lost LC 1972 c...

Re: New bootlegs 2016/2017 (so far 16)
It's an official release and is listed on the LC Files. Click on "Collectors' Rarities" then look on the left side of the page 7 down from the top for 7" singles from the 80's & 90's and you'll find it there.
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Montreal Leonard Cohen Memorial Commemorative Box Set
Well I certainly was wrong with my guess that the news would be an announcement of a project based around the 1993 tour! I have been reading all the comments on the new box set and am sorry to read there is so much negativity about it. I understand that it is expensive and it is coming out at a time...

Re: NOW THE COUNTDOWN: Waiting For The News To Come
So I have been think about what the news may be and I think it may have to do with The Future 1993 tour. Maybe a new interactive website with interviews, reviews, photos, setlists, concert recordings of the tour? There are a few clues that are pointing me in this direction. The first is of course th...

Re: Waiting For The News To Come
I while I would love any new release of anything, of the things that I know are in the vault I am hoping for either a release of all the demos/early takes from the sessions for the first album or the lost "Songs for Rebecca" album from 1975. The 1st album demos were reportedly already rele...

Cheap USA Copies of LP of the New Album
Just a heads up for anyone who may want to get a USA Vinyl edition of Thanks for the Dance without spending a lot. I just came across a website (popmarket.com) that has it in their online closeout crate for only $12 and free shipping included in the USA. They also have a couple of LC paperbacks in t...

Re: The third novel
He did write an unpublished first novel "The Ballad of Lepers" in 1958 before "The Favorite Game" and "Beautiful Losers". Maybe that is the 3rd novel you are referring to? The manuscript of it is viewable at The University of Toronto's Leonard Cohen Archive. Some mentio...

Chris Darrow (Kaleidoscope, Songs of LC Bass Player) Has Died
Just saw a news report that Chris Darrow of the 60's band Kaleidoscope passed away on January 15th. Darrow played bass on Leonard's debut album. In an interview with Darrow in 2009 (link below) he explains how Kaleidoscope came to be recruited by Leonard in 1967 to play on the album. He also tells h...

Re: Leonard and Bob Dylan in 1975
Thanks Wendy, much appreciated! I'm ashamed to say I never got around to getting that one  . I know others have said it is a good bio on LC and it has been on my radar for some time now (since it came out around 2012 or 13 I think if memory serves me right). Life being what it is with work and...
