Re: Dance me to the end of love

I have decided to ignore the inspiration for this song, which is to horrific to imagine. On those terms it is a truly beautiful love song. I''m often amused when Hallelujah, is played at wedding cermonies. I love Hallelujah but I think its a song about the destruction of love "...love is not a ...

Re: the new 02 in dublin...?

Dear O2,

Thanks for the platinum upgrade, but I would really really prefer VIP tickets for Leonard Cohen. I would even sit next to Gerry Ryan if that is all you have left.

Sincerely,

A very loyal customer.

Re: Dublin Dates The O2

I was in Dublin Saturday night and I said then that I wished he played for another 3 hours, there was so much more that I wanted to hear. If this is part 2 I definitely want to be there. I also think it is highly significant that he is starting and finishing his Euro tour in Dublin. Could be a speci...

Re: Glastonbury (June 29)

BTW, I'll still buy your DVD whenever it comes out, because it was the greatest concert I have ever seen and I want to relive it over and over and over again. Just include Dublin Saturday Night.

Re: Glastonbury (June 29)

A lot of heated words here. Leonard hasn't changed. He is still the most humble genius. However, if by chance you are viewing this, Leonard, maybe a compromise solution could be to do a live webcast of one of your up coming shows. Edinburgh sounds like a nice setting!

Re: Glastonbury (June 29)

As far as I'm concerned there is nothing Leonard or his management could do to stop me loving his music. However I think this was a very bad decision, and I believe a huge opportunity missed to spread his beautiful words to a new generation. And no I don't trust the wisdom of his management who afte...

Re: Glastonbury (June 29)

This is such a bad decision. So many people asked me who is Leonard Cohen when I told them I was heading to Dublin. Now everyone seems to know who he is and many have bought his records. Imagine the impact Glastonbury would have? Surely he knew that BBC would broadcast the concert. Also, I deperatel...

Re: The crack in everything

Anthem is one of my favourite Leonard Cohen songs. It is his most uplifting and life affirming songs, suggesting, IMO that the ascent of mankind to a higher ideal is fuelled by enlightenment. Dark ages ultimately yield to the light of knowledge, truth and hope, and the relentless ascent continues. T...

Re: Dublin (June 13-15)

!4th June 2008 will live forever in my heart. This was not a concert, it was a religious experience. My wife and I cried and held each during "Anthem". Leonard, you have been a vital part of our lives for 30+ years. You're music keeps us alive. And as you leave our shores I wish you long l...
